Welcome to my Work In Progress Blog! This is where you get the scoop on my next book. More specifically, I will take you behind the scenes as I am drafting it. The following blog posts are excerpts from my writing journal. Be advised, they may contain swear bombs, grammatical inconsistencies, and heavy doses of sarcasm.
I need to finish this manuscript by end of June if I want to start revisions on time in July. Currently, I’m 90,000 words in, I still have ten chapters left to write, and I’m a wordy bitch. No pressure or anything.
Thoughts on the love scene: Budgeted 1500 words. Wrote 3200. Not even a little sorry. Blew half an hour researching the various types of wax jobs. That was fun. Almost gave PJ the Martini before I came to my senses. The freaky nipple condition is legit, but I couldn’t seem to find a name for […]
Some writers use chapter titles in their books. I don’t for the final product, but I do while I’m drafting. They make revising easier because I can navigate back to certain events in the story more quickly if I give myself little verbal reminders about what happened in the chapter. Here are some titles I […]
Despite my struggles this month, I’ve been able to knock out a few chapters, and I’m at 81,000 words (roughly 230 paperback pages). Chapter 36 was a fun one to write. Lily going full alpha on PJ in this scene had me rolling. This chick is awesome. I can’t wait to tell her story. I […]

Going to spare you the litany of F-bombs from this diary entry, and I’ll just say this: Writer’s block is real. Some days the words are with me. Some days they are not.
Chapter 31. Note to self: Never do overlapping timelines again. It’s a pain in the ass. That damn email exchange between Kory and PJ in Book 2 is causing me grief. It sure seemed like a good idea at the time but having to contextualize it now from PJ’s POV in this book is tricky. […]
Can’t fall asleep. I’ve been up for the last three hours writing the rest of the book in my head. It sometimes happens this way. There’s a big blank space for a while, and I feel like I’m in the dark. Then all of a sudden, a flood of ideas will hit me like a […]
Chapter 27. Fuck it. That sweater bit is staying in.
Just finished Chapter 22, at 53,500 words, and my lovely little meter on Scrivener has turned yellow. Half-way to green and picking up steam. Latest chapter has me thinking I need to revisit some of the classic gothic romances. I can’t reference them in my book without being totally up to speed. Note to self: […]
